Put up your feet and stay awhile

The opening of the Belmont Clubhouse at Fox Run created quite a buzz, not just because of the Belmont's two-story, 52,000 square-foot grand structure but also for many of the amenities it features inside.

People who live at Fox Run, in Novi, can visit a chic spa just a few steps away from their homes now that the Belmont Spa Salon has opened its doors.

Designed to calm
Nestled inside the Belmont Clubhouse, the Spa Salon features a cool, calming light green color on its walls, a comfy seating area, private rooms playing relaxing music for massage therapy, a secluded pedicure wing, and a spacious hair salon area.

"We have a very comforting and relaxing atmosphere here," says the spa's manager, Wendy Hund.

Pamper yourself
Hund says the full-service salon offers manicures, pedicures, women's hairstyling, and men's haircuts by licensed cosmetologists. "We also offer massage therapy and reflexology by appointment," says Hund.  A licensed aesthetician is also on-site for various types of facial treatments.

Hund says a spa is "just what the doctor ordered" for many residents at Fox Run who are anxious to give it a try. "Relaxation is important," she says. Hund is on to something.

According to staff at the Mayo Clinic (www.MayoClinic.com), "Massage can relieve tension in your muscles, and most people use it for relaxation, relief of stress and anxiety, or to reduce muscle soreness. Massage can also cause your body to release natural painkillers, and it boosts your immune system."

It's easy to 'take it easy'
Hund manages two other salons at Fox Run— the seasoned professional has been at the community since it opened. Although "walk-ins" are welcome, Hund notes that appointments can be scheduled on "quieter" days (weekdays) as needed. The spa also offers gift certificates in any amount for those in search of a unique holiday gift.

The Belmont Spa Salon is open Tuesday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 3 p.m.
